1190 37th Street
Vero Beach FL 32960
The Center for Emotional and Behavioral Health provides psychiatric and substance abuse services for children, adolescents and adults. It is a 54-bed facility owned and operated by Indian River Memorial Hospital.
The Center offers free assessments 24 hours a day, seven days a week by trained professionals. Upon completion of an assessment, the staff will make recommendations for the most appropriate level of services within the community.
Treatment at the Center, if recommended, includes a comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment by psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, psychologists and other health care professionals, as necessary.
Individualized inpatient or outpatient treatment programs are developed, based on the comprehensive assessment, and may include such therapies as Group Psychotherapy, Recreational Therapy, Medication Information Groups, Individual Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, Assertiveness Training Groups, and Expressive Therapy.
A multi-disciplinary team works with the patient and the family to set individual treatment goals. As treatment progresses, goals are modified and therapeutic plans for discharge are formed.
The ROPES Executive Challenge Course is an indoor-outdoor course with a wide variety of physical initiatives, providing experience-based learning that creates a positive impact on communication skills, trust, confidence, relationship building, self-esteem and creativity.
The Center also offers a specialty camp to serve the needs of children with Attention Deficit Disorders. The camp, Camp Manatee, has been developed for children ages 6 to 12; adolescents 13 and 14 years of age with ADD may apply to the Junior Counselor In-Training Program.
